Back on the Blog
Hello All... I almost feel as if I have to introduce myself all over again. It's been just that long. It's with much gratitude I report that God has continued to be faithful in all areas and avenues. Worship services have continued to be blessed and the spirit of praise has continued to increase. Also, it feels as if the warmth and fellowship of the people continues to grow as well. It is always a wonder to behold a glimpse of God's will "on earth as it is in heaven." We have a great ways to go at "the ship" but thanks be to our heavenly father for bringing it such a long way already. On this weekend we will be the guest of Greater Works Baptist Church in Austin Texas. Pastor James and the congregation will be celebrating their church anniversary. A good remnant of our congregation will travel to share in this fellowship exchange. We plan to have worship service on Saturday morning at 9:30am and depart shortly thereafter. This is the first time that we have attempted a Saturday worship since I have been a part of the congregation. I am sure that everything will go smoothly. History would indicate that most of our people will be with us and I don't want to take the chance of worship service being a wash altogether on Sunday. Being that myself, the musicians, choir, ushers, praise dance, etc. will be with us, the people that don't travel usually decide to just stay home for the weekend. Not that I agree with that approach, I still have to deal with the realities. I am actually looking forward to the time there in Austin. Pastor James is a dear friend and has really been there for me in times of great struggle in my ministerial life. I also greatly admire him and the progress that he and his congregation has made. I have shared in the church anniversary for the last eight years or so, since they first started their church. I have seen them make a transition from school buildings, shopping centers, and hotel conference rooms. They have been blessed to build and occupy their own house of prayer and worship. I have continued to draw strength and encouragement from their walk and witness. Needless to say, I feel right at home when I go there and God always seems to really bless that time of sharing. I ask your prayers that the Lord would grant us traveling grace and fill us with His spirit that will all Him to be gloried and His people edified. It's good to be back on the blog...
